Next season, 45th Parallel celebrates its 10th Anniversary by evolving into...

45th Parallel Universe!

Everything that you love about 45th Parallel remains; the virtuosity of Portland musicians, the eclectic artistic sensibilities of our founder, Greg Ewer, all have evolved into a stellar lineup of programs that we are eager to share with you!

This is a season of debuts, featuring the Arcturus Wind Quintet, the percussionists in The Gemini Project, and Event Horizon, Portland’s newest chamber orchestra. They’ll be joined by mousai REMIX and Pyxis string quartets (formerly Third Angle String Quartet), creating a lineup of dynamic groups that will send you into orbit. The artists of 45th Parallel all perform with the Grammy nominated Oregon Symphony, brought together by our passion for chamber music.

That’s our motto, reflected in programs that will be equal parts museum and gallery, a place where traditional and modern music will reside in a mutually enriching relationship. This season features music by Benjamin Britten, Jimmy Lopez, Kenji Bunch, Steve Reich, Richard Strauss, Bonnie Miksch, among many others. 

We're also pleased to announce that acclaimed composer Kenji Bunch will be returning as composer-in-residence!
